About CrowdFlow Live
The idea started
in the DJ booth.
CrowdFlow Live is a service from Kern Medien. Dennis-Michael Kern developed the platform through his work as a DJ.
Where it began
Fewer scraps of paper. A clearer view of the night.
Paper notes, requests shouted mid-transition, and guests who would rather not ask for their song at all: that’s where the idea for CrowdFlow Live came from.
Guests send requests from their phones. Each one goes into the DJ’s list, ready to check when the time is right. No lost notes, and no need to interrupt the set to ask for a song.
What came next
From clubs to other celebrations
Tested in clubs
The first versions ran in local clubs. Each night showed what worked and what got in the way. That feedback shaped the next steps.
Built on shared ideas
Working with the clubs brought new ideas: messages on the big screen, approval by the team and a look back at the night. Those ideas became Chatwall, moderation and the archive.
Used at more celebrations
CrowdFlow Live later found its way to weddings and birthdays. The idea stayed the same: guests should be able to request a song easily, even when they’re nowhere near the DJ booth.
Behind CrowdFlow Live
Dennis-Michael Kern
DJ and founder of CrowdFlow Live
I’m a DJ myself, so I know what it’s like to be interrupted at the booth. I wanted one place for requests that I could check at the right moment. I still decide what to play and when a request fits.
Today, DJs, clubs and event organisers can use CrowdFlow Live for their own nights. The site is run by Kern Medien in Rostock.
