Preventing repeated submissions in guest forms

Why the form sometimes asks for a short pause, and how to handle repeated or inappropriate posts.

One guest taps Send twice because the connection is slow. Another deliberately sends request after request. Both happen. Waiting periods and quantity limits help keep lists usable.

Not every double tap is intentional

A short interval between submissions and detection of identical posts prevent accidental duplicate requests. If the form says the post was already sent, the guest doesn’t need to send it again.

Even different posts have a limit

Quantity limits apply when many posts are sent quickly. The form then says when sending can resume. If a guest asks, checking that message often helps. Remember that several people may share a phone.

A quantity limit can’t understand an inside joke

You can’t tell whether a message is friendly, offensive or just ambiguous by counting posts. Use the word filter and manual approval for public Chatwalls. You can temporarily block a device there if disruption continues.

Try the whole flow yourself

  • Open the QR code on a second phone
  • Send a test request and check the list
  • Review and approve a Chatwall message

That way you know both sides: the form your guests see and the list you work with.
